Women of Christ the King Parish prepare meals for St. Jacques school
Haiti is the poorest country in the Western hemisphere, and one of the most disadvantaged countries in the developing world. Seventy-six percent of Haitians live on less than U.S. $2 per day, while 55 percent live on less than U.S. $1 per day.
Haiti has a population of nearly 8 million. Eighty percent live in poverty, one million children are chronically malnourished and one in eight will not live to see adulthood.
Before the earthquake, an estimated 38,000 children under the age of five die every year in Haiti - almost one out of three because of malnutrition.
You can help us make a difference in Haiti’s Central Plateau. With your generous contributions, we will be able to feed the children of St. Jacques School in Lahoye Haiti.
We are working with World Vison to create a lunch canteen for more than 350 children. For many of the children this will be the only meal of the day!
